I have always placed great importance on the power of a successful mentor. Over the last 10 years I have worked with more than a dozen very successful, very powerful mentors. These are everyday people like you and I, who have mastered their own abilities and found success by growing their businesses into household brand names.
By working with these mentors, and understanding what has worked for them, and not worked for them, I save myself mistakes. I save myself lost time, wasted stress and grey hairs, and money being poured down the drain.
Instead I tap into the mistakes these successful mentors have made, and learn from them, and then redirect my business so that I can avoid them myself.
You should NEVER be without at least one good mentor at any time.
There are many ways you can find a mentor, from free to paid versions.
Always look for people who have done the hard yards, built the businesses, been in the trenches. Avoid coaches or mentors who haven’t actually built at least one or two successful business from the ground up (and trust me, that’s the majority of business coaches touting their services out there).
Instead, look for business mentors who have grown at least 1 or 2 multi-million dollar business, and KEPT it for more than 5 years.
In addition to a mentor, find a community or support group. Find other business owners
who are going through the same hoops as you are. Look for another to be your accountability or support friend.
Being a business owner can feel lonely at times, so find your tribe.
And find at least 2 business podcasts you love and feel inspired by listening to, then download some of their episodes to your phone, and listen when you are driving/travelling/walking.
Keep yourself uplifted and inspired by other people more successful than you, so that you can grow as a business owner.
